Team Triple A go on running tour for kids with cancer
Team Triple A, the Rat Race enthusiasts, who we featured in runABC magazine in 2017 have a full calendar of racing arranged for 2019. The Kent duo of Aaron Rout and Alex Simpson will once again dip into the Rat Race programme but will augment with other events including London and Chicago (hopefully) marathons.
And this year there is a good cause involved in the shape of Children With Cancer UK (CwCUK). Aaron told us: "CwCUK currently fund more than 60 research projects at centres of excellence around the UK. These projects are investigating a broad range of childhood cancers – helping them to better understand these diseases and to find more effective, less toxic ways of treating them."
The team will launch their 2019 campaign at the two-day Ultra Tour of Arran (Scotland) just two weeks before London Marathon. They will follow that up with a Dirty Weekend in May and Endure 24 in June.
A Rat Race triple header follows at Man vs Coast (Cornwall), Man vs Lakes (Lakes), Man vs Mountain (Snowdonia) –Team Triple A like to see a bit of the country and get value from their RR season ticket!
Chicago is pencilled in for October just one week ahead of the season's finale at the Ultra Tour of Edinburgh.
