Chester Half Marathon race action

Go For Gold With The Chester Triple

Ready, steady, go! Entries are open for 2022’s Chester Marathon, Half & 10K…

As we near the end of this year, attention should turn to the 2022 race calendar and all the possibilities it offers. A particularly tantalising prospect is to ‘take on the triple’ at Active Leisure Events’ highly popular Chester races. From 10K to full marathon, you can use the events to chart your progress throughout the year.

First up is the Chester 10K, scheduled to take place on 13 March. The fast course starts at Chester Racecourse and heads north-west out of the city. Wide roads allow runners to rapidly settle into race pace, as they pass near the picturesque village of Mollington before returning to the heart of Chester City centre.

Perfectly timed for those who do hope to run the full marathon later on in the autumn, the Chester Half Marathon is set to take place on 15 May 2022 marking the 40th anniversary of this historic award-winning race. So join thousands of others for a party atmosphere through the Cheshire streets.

Heading into autumn and on 2 October the marathon and metric marathons will take place. The MBNA Chester Marathon is the ‘UK's best marathon’ (up to 5,000 runners), as voted at the 2018, 2019 & 2020 Running Awards and its sister event is the UK's only metric marathon (26.2km) - offering a great challenge for half marathon runners and an ideal stepping stone if you're aiming for a full marathon in the future.

Organisers are looking forward to next year and hope that the amazing fundraising amount generated in 2021 is matched, or even bettered: “Our 2021 races have raised more than £600k for numerous charities both local and national. Absolutely amazing running & generosity from so many wonderful people.”
