The stars align for Marathon Tours & Travel's autumn programme...

The Abbott World Marathon Majors (AbbottWMM) Six Star medal remains the most prestigious and sought after reward available to 'ordinary' marathon runners. The Tokyo Marathon on 2 March 2025 took the AbbottWMM Six Star Hall of Fame membership beyond 20,000 as a further 2,300 Six Star finishers claimed their coveted six-part medals.

TCS Sydney Marathon by ASICS – 31st August 2025

The new kid on the AbbottWMM block! Sydney joined the Seven Star family last year. Expect 35,000 runners from around the globe. With over 100 countries represented, this will be the largest marathon event ever held in Australia. Run one of the world’s most scenic marathon courses, taking in some of Sydney’s most beautiful and historic landmarks, including Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Make this the trip of a lifetime by extending your tour to include the Kangaroo Island Marathon/Half Marathon the week before TCS Sydney Marathon!

BMW Berlin Marathon – 21st September 2025

The fastest marathon course in the world has witnessed 13 world records in its 50-year history – more than any other marathon worldwide. Over 50,000 finishers experience their special moment when passing through the Brandenburg Gate just before the finish line. Millions of spectators line the route and 80 live bands celebrate the sport and motivate runners.

Bank of America Chicago Marathon – 12th October, 2025

If Berlin is the most prolific for records, Chicago holds both current men's (2:00:35) and women's (2:09:56) world best performances by Kenya's Kelvin Kiptum (deceased) in 2023 and Ruth Chepn'getich last year. Grant Park is the centre for the 47th Chicago Marathon, known for its flat and fast course. Over 50,000 runners will enjoy the support of 1.7 million spectators as they traverse 29 neighbourhoods in one of the world's most magnificent cities.
