New Trail Race For Balmoral
New 6 mile trail race to debut at this year's Run Balmoral event....
A brand-new challenge is coming to Run Balmoral this year with the launch of the Bilfinger 6 Mile Trail Race. This exciting event will guide runners along the scenic banks of the River Dee before ascending through woodland paths, passing some of the historic cairns on the stunning Balmoral Estate.
The two-lap course offers plenty of opportunities for family and friends to cheer on participants, making it a thrilling addition to the popular running festival which is scheduled to take place 26/27 April.
With Bilfinger UK stepping in as the official sponsor, the company is eager to support an event that aligns with its values of health, wellness and sustainability. A spokesperson said: “The Bilfinger 6 Mile Trail Race is a fantastic new addition and we look forward to celebrating the achievements of everyone who takes on this challenging and rewarding course, set against the spectacular backdrop of Balmoral Castle.”
Run Balmoral's James Knowles echoed the excitement: “We are thrilled to have Bilfinger on board as sponsor of our new six-mile trail race and look forward to working closely with them to make it a great success.”
The race will also form part of the John Clark Devil of Deeside Challenge, where competitors will take on four races across the weekend: the Harbour Energy 5K and Stena Drilling 10K on Saturday, followed by the Bilfinger 6 Mile Trail Race and Bristow 15 Mile Trail Race on Sunday. The overall winners will be determined by the best cumulative times across all four events.
Held on traffic-free roads and trails, the Run Balmoral races offer breathtaking views of the Deeside countryside and the Cairngorm mountains. Each competitor will receive a special edition medal, with the 2025 design featuring the iconic Auld Brig o’Dee.
