Stay at Home Staveley needs you
Lakeland Trails and inov-8 have launched a new virtual event and they want you to explore trails that are right on your doorstep in ‘Stay at Home Staveley’. If you answer the call you'll be in impressive company with ultra legends Nicky Spinks and Damian Hall set to take part.
Saturday 9 May was the date of the 5K, 10K and 18K Staveley that has been rescheduled to October as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. However, the organisers have found a way for people to virtually run together and raise much needed money for charity. Together with partners inov-8 they created ‘Stay at Home Staveley’ where participants run, walk, cycle or climb their stairs as they complete 5K/10K or 18K between 9am and 4pm this Saturday.
Virtually joining them are inov-8 ambassadors Damian Hall and Nicky Spinks, GB international mountain runner Ben Mounsey and Chris Holdsworth and Tom Adams who are known for their turn of speed.
Participants take photos or videos of their Stay at Home Staveley and upload these to the event Facebook page. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative selfie, most innovative route, best example of Playing Your Part etc and include inov-8 running kit, Pete Bland Sports vouchers and Lakeland Trails event entries and branded headwear.
Donations will be equally divided between the Lake District Calvert Trust and Cumbria Covid-19 Response Fund – both of which appreciate any help given.
Choose a route close to home, observe social distancing rules and have fun.
