Santas To Takeover parkrun
Six locations to choose from at this year's St Gemma's Santa Dash parkrun Takeover...
Join the St Gemma’s Hospice Santa Dash parkrun takeover 2024 with six venues in and around Leeds on offer. The parkruns in question include Temple Newsam, Roundhay, Woodhouse Moor, Bramley, Wetherby and Rothwell, so if any of those are your local run then why not sign up to raise vital funds for St Gemma’s Hospice on 14 December?
St Gemma's Hospice in Leeds provides the best possible care for local people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. A spokesperson says: "We would love for you to ask for support from your friends/family/colleagues and get sponsored to run as santa himself. Browse our free downloadable materials, including sponsorship forms and a guide to setting up a Justgiving page, which can help you get on your way to making your fundraising a success!"
The parkrun takeovers will begin at 9am at each location and the route is the existing 5K parkrun route for each location. Those taking part can collect their santa suit on the day. The adult santa suit is one size fits all and for children there are two sizes available (age 5-8 and 9-14) - so the whole family can get involved.
The parkrun takeover took place for the first time in 2023 and proved a great fundraising vehicle for the hospice, it was also enjoyed by local parkrunners too, as this comment demonstrates: "I’m a regular parkrunner, so to join in the Santa Dash to raise a bit of money for St Gemma’s seemed a fun thing to become involved with."
