Extend a red or blue helping hand to charities at the virtual Santa Dash

Run this festive 5k in your own way and support 8 charities

Liverpool Santa Dash has been affected by Covid-19 but the UK’s biggest festive 5K is a survivor and thanks to the efforts of the organisers BTR Liverpool, will be a virtual event on 20 December (date moved from 6 December due to the most recent lockdown in Liverpool).

There is still plenty for participants to enjoy and they will be helping 8 charities who are struggling during this pandemic and appreciate any help given, large or small.

This year would have seen the 17th Liverpool Santa Dash, the popular event where adults and children run or walk 5K, transforming the city into a red and blue spectacular and starting Christmas on a high note. Whilst the format has changed everyone is invited to run the festive 5K at a location to suit them and socially distanced with a small group. There is still a choice of a red or blue Santa suit and everyone will be rewarded with a shiny new bespoke medal.

All profits from this virtual event will be equally divided between the following 8 charities:

  • Alder Hey Children’s Charity
  • Claire House Children’s Hospice
  • Clatterbridge Cancer Charity
  • Marie Curie
  • North West Air Ambulance
  • Nugent
  • Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation
  • WUTH Charity

Claire House Children’s Hospice had 185 people complete last year’s Santa Dash and raise more than £11,000 for families in need.

The Virtual Santa Dash will deliver a much-needed boost for these worthy causes, actively encouraged by BTR Liverpool Race Director Alan Rothwell who says: “With all events cancelled since March it’s been a very difficult time for charities who need a helping hand now more than ever before to continue their vital work.”
