In the glow at the Dark Run

Hauntingly good news as Dark Run returns

This popular Halloween themed fundraiser has a new venue.

Not long to go until the Dark Run on Saturday 30 October and at three locations this year. Dress to impress, run or walk 5K (or 4K at Chirk) and help raise funds for Hope House Ty Gobaith Children’s Hospices.

Adults and children will be making a night of it at Telford Town Park, Chirk Castle National Trust and new for 2021, the Dingle Nature Reserve, Anglesey. The routes are well lit with glow sticks and marshals will be situated at various points to keep everyone safe and on the right track. Under 16’s must be accompanied by a paying adult and participants are required to wear a head torch or bring a hand held.

Telford Town Park is where the Dark Run made its debut in 2014 to great success, becoming an award winning event as well as raising over £30,000 for these hospices. The 5K sets off at 6.30pm.

Chirk Castle is hosting a 4K which begins at 6pm and Anglesey a 5K also starting at 6pm. All these locations will be bright, cheerful, and lively, ready for a fun night as people of all ages go the ‘full Halloween’, appearing as ghosts, witches, skeletons and devils. Glow sticks in hand as they warm up via a ‘clubbercise’ workout to get them in the mood for a scarily good run, jog or walk.

All finishers will be presented with a bespoke glow-in-the-dark medal and goody bag.

There is a virtual option for anyone unable to attend on the night.

Note: The Dark Run sells out every year and spaces are limited. Tickets can be purchased via the Hope House website.
