Run along the East Lothian coast and enjoy a big finish at Musselburgh Racecourse at this summer event...
Take part in the Scottish Half Marathon on Sunday 18 August and explore the best of what Scotland has to offer amidst the Edinburgh Fringe Festival season. This is your chance to explore Edinburgh, experience the world-renowned Fringe Festival and conquer a thrilling half marathon, all in one unforgettable weekend.
The Scottish Half is the perfect event for all runners from budding first-timers to experienced club runners. Whether you chase personal bests, run for charity, or seek a personal challenge, this weekend is your gateway to an exceptional Edinburgh experience.
The popular East Lothian half marathon is a perfect race for those looking to set a PB thanks to the 'seriously flat and rapid route'. Starting just outside Edinburgh, runners will head along the magnificent East Lothian Golf Coast before finishing in the final furlong at Musselburgh Racecourse; Scotland’s oldest racecourse.
If a half marathon is a step too far then why not sign up for the 10K which is also on offer? The shorter race provides runners with a similarly flat and fast course.
Speaking about their event, organisers said: "Come and join us over Edinburgh Fringe Festival season and experience our fast, flat route. The race is ideal for PB-chasers, first-timers, and everyone in between!"
Sharon Carr took part in 2023, and commented post race: "It was extremely well organised and the logistics of the park and ride, baggage drop and reclaim at the start and finish were excellent, with helpful and supportive volunteers. One of the best organised halfs I have ever attended, thank you."
