Panoramic coastal views and historic piers at the Run Bournemouth Weekend...
With the Spring marathon and half-marathon season in full swing and many races already fully subscribed, it's time to look ahead and start planning your Autumn running adventures.
With that in mind, we can heartily recommend the Run Bournemouth Weekend on Saturday, 10th – Sunday, 11th October 2026, a runABC Featured Event with everything from a Kids' Kilometre dash to the traditional Bournemouth Half Marathon, all held in the superb setting of the Dorset resort.
'Running as it should be' is the strapline and ethos of the entire weekend, starting with the Junior 2K for runners aged 9-12 years at 2:00pm on the Saturday afternoon, followed by a Junior 1.5K for those aged 6-8 years at 2:45pm, and the Kid's Kilometre at 3:30pm for 3-6 year olds who an adult must accompany.
Saturday's action concludes as dusk arrives with the exciting Supernova 5K at 7:00pm. Hundreds of brightly attired and illuminated runners will make a superb spectacle with the emphasis on light as they dash onto Bournemouth Pier during the race.
Sunday is all about endurance running as the action begins with the Supersonic 10K at 9:00am on a flat, fast course perfect for PB-chasers. The course includes sections of running on both Boscombe Pier and Bournemouth Pier along the stunning coastal route.
The original Bournemouth Half Marathon concludes the programme at 11:00am, with the start time making it possible to run this race after finishing the Supersonic 10K for extra kudos and social media clicks!
Experience the buzz of the finish area at Bournemouth Pier Approach, which promises cheering crowds, a fabulous medal, and a finisher t-shirt to wear with pride. This really is running as it should be!
