runABC is in the process of upgrading and improving its online service so you might encounter the odd glitch over the next week or so but rest assured we’re working on them and the new site will be a fantastic resource for our running community.

Kew Gardens 10K medals 2018

Something To Treasure At Richmond Runfest

Theme chosen; medals revealed; T-shirt designed; entries flying in. The check list is almost complete for another Richmond Runfest on 15-16 September, 2018 and if you want to be part of 'London's most exclusive race weekend' you need to act fast.

This year's dramatic theme for Richmond Runfest is Neverland and Kew Gardens will be transformed as thousands of runners will fly past Peter Pan, Captain Hook and the pirates of the Jolly Rodger. At the end of the race, competitors will be rewarded with hidden treasure in the shape of gold medals, although organisers cannot promise eternal youth will be ensured!

The medals are always highly prized at Richmond Runfest and the 2018 example is one to treasure. The theme of Neverland has been chosen to support the work of Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Peter Pan will be forever linked with GOSH, since the author J. M. Barrie donated all of the rights to help build a new children's wing at GOSH in 1929.

The event T-shirt is another bespoke collectors item. These are NIKE technical male and female specific designs with the slogan: 'Run Richmond, Good Eye Deer', reflecting the grand finish in Old Deer Park for the marathon and half marathon. Old Deer Park is also the venue for the Nike Kids' Mile Races, Family Mile and Event Village.

The full Richmond Runfest is the Kew Gardens 10K on Saturday, 15 September followed by Nike Kids' Mile Races in Old Deer Park in the afternoon. Sunday morning (16 September) is reserved for Richmond Marathon and Richmond Half Marathon and the weekend concludes with the mass Family Mile and music festival in Old Deer Park.

There are still places available in the Kew Gardens 10K and every entry includes two free adult and unlimited children's admissions to the world famous botanical gardens. The flagship marathon and half marathons are fully subscribed for general entry but there are some charity places left. All finishers receive a top quality goody bag with a free Fullers beer token to be exchanged at local hostelries or the beer tent in Old Deer Park.
