New Course For Retford Half
The countdown to one of Nottinghamshire’s most anticipated races has begun...
The Retford Half Marathon will return on 16 March and will once again provide the Nottinghamshire town with an exciting day of racing and community spirit. Organised by Retford AC, this popular event is set to be bigger than ever, featuring a brand-new course and hosting the Nottinghamshire AAA County Championships.
Organisers say: "This year we are introducing a two-lap course around the Retford Oaks Academy site, offering a fast, scenic, and PB-potential route—all on solid ground."
The 2025 edition will serve as the official host for the Nottinghamshire AAA County Championships. There is no extra cost to enter and it is open to runners born in Nottinghamshire or those who have been resident in the county for at least nine months.
With many runners training for spring marathons like London, Manchester, and Brighton, the Retford Half Marathon is an ideal preparation race. It offers a great opportunity to test fitness levels before tackling a full 26.2 miles.
All finishers will receive a commemorative medal and Retford Oaks Academy will once again serve as race HQ, providing top-notch facilities for runners and spectators.
After the Half Marathon kicks off, it’s time for families to hit the track! The Charity Family Fun Run welcomes runners of all ages for a non-competitive, fun-filled event with an incredible community atmosphere.
