Get Ready For Ramathon...

It may seem a long way off, but entries are now open for the 2024 Ramathon. Time to get it in the diary?

If you like to plan your races well in advance then take note that entries are now open for one of the Midlands' best regarded road races - the Ramathon! Set to take place on Sunday 30 June, next year’s Ramathon will be the 10th staging of the event in the city.

A firm favourite in the region’s sporting calendar, thousands of fun runners, fundraisers and club runners are expected to sign up across both events. Attracted by a city centre start and finish for both the Ramathon and Ram 5 Mile, runners can look forward to a fast and flat route; making it suitable for both novice and seasoned runners alike.

The Ramathon course boasts the city’s picturesque backdrop, starting and finishing outside the steps of Derby Cathedral and takes in local sights such as Pride Park Stadium and Derby’s very own Gothic Revival stately home, Elvaston Castle.

Sitting alongside the main event of the day, the Derbion Ramathon Team Challenge will be open to teams of four or more to take on the full half marathon distance in the hope of being the fastest team of 2024. The Team Challenge offers a great opportunity for teams of all combinations and backgrounds to engage in an element of friendly race day rivalry or strengthen team work, all while raising money for many deserving charities.

Tristan Batley-Kyle of organisers, Run For All, said: “We are delighted to be hosting the Derbion Ramathon, RAM 5 Mile and Team Challenge in 2024.

“The events are a fantastic opportunity for the local community to engage in a local sporting event and serve as a great opportunity for runners to fundraise for a great local cause. All of our events remain to be entirely inclusive and we encourage runners of all abilities to join us on the day.”
