Making a splash at the Cannock Chase Half Marathon & 10K

Cannock Chase Half & 10K back with a splash

This back to nature race returns for 2021.

Entries remain open for the Cannock Chase Half Marathon & 10K on Saturday 23 October at 10am. Held in a beautiful location, it presents a challenge for the newcomer and seasoned runner alike with individual and team prizes to aim for.

The Cannock Chase Half Marathon & 10K had a successful launch in 2019 with places snapped up at what  was a well organised event from Nice Work. It hit the mark with many runners.

There was no race in 2020 as a result of the pandemic but it is back this year and hopefully, will attract a new set of fans to add to the existing ones. Runners will be keen to sample the stunning trails and paths around Cannock Chase, test themselves up the hills and maybe bag a PB into the bargain. They'll be sure to enjpy  the autumn colours and views and there's always the reward of some bling and goodies for their efforts.

Note: the forest is popular with walkers and cyclists so runners need to be aware of these other users whilst out on the course.

It is also great preparation for a marathon (and, with the upside down race calendar, there's never one far away these days) as the undulating course will increase stamina whilst strengthening the legs for these races and others to follow.

If you are feeling competitive there are prizes for the leading men and women along with age category awards and male and female team prizes (3 to score). These are something to focus on whilst pushing on the climbs.
