The Oundle New Year Race

Nice Work For The New Year

Get your New Year off to a flying start at this double header in Northants...

Kick start your New Year resolutions at the Oundle New Year 10K & 5K and get your 2025 running plans underway in style while enjoying the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside and crisp winter air on 5 January.

The races both start at Oundle Primary School and the routes are all on tarmac, following a scenic and gently undulating course along wide, quiet country lanes in and around the pretty Northamptonshire village. 10K runners will complete two laps, while those taking on the 5K will complete one.

Organisers say: "This is an ideal race for the club runner keen to post a PB and equally suitable for one of the recent converts to running to aim for their racing debut. The event is also considered a good choice for graduates of a Couch to 5K programme."

Praise is effusive from those who have taken part in the past with comments like this commonplace: "Fabulous race - well organised, good marshals, lovely scenery and a few challenging undulations!"

In 2024 over 300 took part across the two distances. Joanna Male of West End Runners was first home in the 5K in a time of 17:45 while Harborough AC's Jack Chennell was first in the 10K in 33:14.
