Stride Out At Trident 10K

There's a new 10K to be staged within Loch Lomond and the Trossachs this September...

A new trail 10K will be taking place within Loch Lomond & The Trossachs this autumn, organised by Helensburgh AAC the Trident 10K will take place on 14 September and if the location and date suit then the good news is that there are still some spots available.

Speaking about their new event, organisers said: We have a maximum of 80 places for the inaugural 10K trail run, which isn't flat! You can expect a challenging but beautiful off road run taking in views over The Clyde, Arrochar Alps, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. The weather will be glorious, the marshalls wonderful, the route magnificent and your race day incredible."

Starting from Helensburgh Rugby Club, the race takes runners on a loop which covers a distance of 9.72K and has an elevation gain of 381m. The route takes in a trail and dirt road run within Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Organisers stress: 'It's not easy but it's worth it!'.

If you fancy bringing the kids along too then note that there will also be a junior race on the day. The Duchess Dash is a 4K trail based on two laps of the area's Duchess Woods. This event is open to juniors aged 12-17 years old and entries can be made on the day.

On the day participants can expect fun prizes including spot prizes for both the adult and junior races. A fitting reward for everyone post race, we have been assured that there will also be the famous Helensburgh AAC homebaking for all runners at the finish line!
