Have you heard about the marathon with a three-day time limit? The event in question is the 14th Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend on the May Bank Holiday weekend of 3-5 May 2025.

The Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend is brought to you by Places Leisure in association with AHS Wellbeing and race management expertise is provided by Nice Work. The event is held in partnership with Mid Sussex District Council and the East Grinstead, Haywards Heath, and Burgess Hill Town Councils.

This much-anticipated event offers something for everyone – from seasoned runners to enthusiastic beginners – providing the opportunity to complete a marathon at your own pace in manageable, bite-sized chunks.

The three-day event kicks off on Saturday, 3rd May, in East Grinstead with a challenging 10-mile race. The excitement continues on Sunday, 4th May, in Haywards Heath with another 10-miler and the marathon culminates on Bank Holiday Monday, 5th May, in Burgess Hill with a fast-paced 10K race. Participants can opt to compete in individual races or take on the full marathon distance of 26.2 miles over three days.

Complementing the main races we have the Mid Sussex Fun Runs that start at 9:30am, one hour before each race in the Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend. And if you or yours feel the need for more speed there are Mid Sussex Mile races at each venue starting at 10am. Every participant in supporting events will receive a medal to commemorate their achievements.

Positions in the Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend are decided on total combined time. All finishers in the full three-stage marathon race will receive a special marathon weekend T-shirt and bespoke souvenir medal.

All the main events are held on multi-terrain, undulating courses showcasing the picturesque scenery in Mid Sussex. Entry fees range from £6 for the Fun Run or Mile to £63 for a ticket for the complete Mid Sussex Marathon and you can enter directly via Nice Work here.
