Edinburgh's Blast Running 5K @ The Meadows series is back for 2024, kicking off on 23 January with a special Burns Day themed event. Throughout the course of the year these 5K races are held once a month around the paths of The Meadows on Tuesday lunchtimes at 12.45pm.

Those interested can sign up to the full series or simply come along to a single session. Speaking about this year's series, Blast's Catriona Bruce said: "​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​New for 2024 we have a Series Pass which offers runners 12 months for the price of 10. Not only that there will be series prizes including: Most Improved Runner 2024 and Most Consistent Runner 2024!"

The 5K runs are open to all runners and offers a 'cheeky wee mid week speed session' around a flat and fast course in beautiful surroundings. There are prizes for the 1st Male and Female in all age categories and hot and cold drinks for all finishers. There's also an optional medal.

But back to the January's Burn's Day event, Catriona says: "Come along to our Rabbie Burns 5K and get your 2024 off to a running start! There will be delicious whisky prizes for 1st Male and Female in all age categories supplied by @dramswithdougal and @singlemaltmark."

The full 2024 Series dates (all Tuesdays) are as follows: 23 January, 13 February, 19 March, 23 April, 21 May, 18 June, 2 July, 27 August, 24 September, 22 October, 12 November and 17 or 24 December (tbc).
