Marple 10K Trail Race

Seventh Heaven

This 10K trail race is back in June, with a fantastic bit of bling on offer for those taking part...

The seventh Marple Runners Carnival 10K Trail Race will take place on 16 June and will once again see runners take in the scenic parks, countryside and sights of Marple near Stockport.

Organisers say: "Every year our 10K is a really wonderful event and one of things we get such great feedback about is our fab and friendly team of Marple Runners marshals giving such great support along the route! And they'll be raring to go to cheer you all on again."

The multi terrain, mainly off-road, 10K race starts in Brabyns Park and utilises sections (not the muddy part) of the Marple parkrun course before leaving the park via the canal locks, taking back roads and trails via Marple Hall to Chadkirk. It then heads up 'that hill', before returning to Marple along the Peak Forest Canal, crossing the iconic Marple Aqueduct then finishing back at the start in Brabyns Park.

Those entering the race will benefit from the race's famously supportive and cheerful marshals (all of whom are Marple Runners members), chip timing, a great medal as well as some fabulous goodies. There will also be free race photos from two professional photographers.

Speaking of the medal, you can see from the photo above that each medal represents an archway from the beautiful Marple Aqueduct which is a highlight of the run. The medals have been specially designed to link together, so for those collecting them year on year or if you're competing with friends, get your medals together and create your very own aqueduct.
