Spring In Its Step

Now’s the time to sign up for your big spring marathon, and we’ve just the one for you…

After a record-breaking event in October, the Therme Manchester Marathon will return to its traditional spring timing in 2022, on Sunday 3 April. With London Marathon retaining an autumn date, this means Manchester will be the largest marathon in the UK to take place in the first half of the year.

And there are certainly plenty of good reasons to make Manchester your marathon of choice, in fact the event has seen a recent boost in popularity thanks to frequently strong reviews from runners across the board!

One of this year's participants Lynette Low said: "Wow, Manchester - you did not disappoint! What a welcome with amazing support from start to finish! So much to process and relive, but already I’m thinking of repeating the experience in April 2022. Who’s with me?"

The course has been tweaked in recent editions, and now includes a hugely entertaining and crowd-heavy section through the city centre. Other popular segments remain, crucially retaining the characteristically flat profile that sees runners flock to Greater Manchester in search of a PB.

That said, whilst the hard-core are well catered for, Manchester’s electric atmosphere is the perfect place for a debut marathon attempt. There’s never long between live music, vocal crowds, or cheer zones to keep you entertained!

If you don’t fancy the full 26.2 miles this time, Manchester is one of the few key marathons that offers relay options. Teams of two or four can split the distance up between them.

With around 20,000 people already signed up, remaining places are likely to sell-out. To secure yours head to the official website.
