Targeting a marathon PB? Or a great autumn race experience? Manchester 2021 is the ideal event

Sunday 10 October set to be a red letter day for Manchester Marathon

Manchester Marathon 2021 is set for Sunday 10 October. The north of England's top 26.2 mile race has built a reputation for one of the fastest courses in the UK. And as one of the friendliest events.

Now organisers are hard at work to ensure that this year's race will be one to remember with an amazing route featuring many of the city's top landmarks. There is a traditional start at Old Trafford, a new city centre section and a brilliant 'pick me up' tour of Altrincham at miles 16 & 17.

The event's trademark live music at key points around the course and charity cheer stations will again be features of Manchester Marathon as will a 20,000 strong field many of whom will be running with pride in the charity colours of their choice.

Good causes like Cancer Research UK, WWF, Alzheimer's Society and ABV, the Soldiers Charity will all have big teams of runners and there is the option of signing up for a charity, giving your motivation a huge boost and making your big race day extra special.

Guaranteed places for the big race are available for a short time at the official website. Places for this year are already close to capacity due to the postponement of the 2020 event, so you’ll need to be quick if you want to be on the start line in 2021.

Right now we all need something to focus on – whether that's a marathon PB or simply a brilliant racing experience later in the year! Either way Manchester Marathon is the ideal option to keep you on track.

You’ll have to be quick, public entries close Wednesday 10 February.  Get full details about the event, including the closed road route, at the event website.
