Entries are now open for the 2026 Manchester Half as runners prepare to secure places at one of the UK’s most popular and fastest-growing half marathons. With demand continuing to rise year on year, organisers expect places to be snapped up quickly when the allocation goes on sale today.

The Manchester Half returns on Sunday 4 October and will once again welcome thousands of runners of all abilities to take on 13.1 miles through the vibrant streets of Greater Manchester. Renowned for its fast and flat route, electric crowd support and slick event-day experience, the race has become a firm favourite for first-time half marathon runners and seasoned athletes chasing personal bests.

Organisers told us: "Interest in the 2026 edition has already been exceptionally strong, with more than 12,000 runners registering during the initial launch period alone. In 2025, a record 28,000 participants lined up at the Trafford Arch start line, making it the largest half marathon ever staged in Manchester.

"We expect today's release to sell out quickly as runners look to lock in their autumn marathon calendar well in advance, so be quick!"

With the Manchester Half selling out earlier each year momentum is already building and securing a place early remains the best way to avoid missing out on one of the standout events in the UK autumn running calendar.
