Sign Up For Autumn's Speediest Half
Get ready to supercharge your stride and go for glory in this speedy, friendly and supportive half marathon...
Returning on Sunday 9 October welcoming runners of all abilities, the 2022 Manchester Half is the biggest event of its type in the North West, with over 10,000 runners expected to take on the incredible closed road route.
Since its launch in 2016 the race has received rave reviews from participants, thanks to its amazing atmosphere, famous flat route and unrivalled support from crowds along the 13.1 mile course (think loud and then double it!) - adding to the distinctive charm of this event.
Sarah Shaw commented after taking part in last year's event: "First Manchester Half and it was ace! Really well organised! Thank you." and you can expect to be similarly enthused if you sign up for the 2022 staging. Further details will be revealed over the next couple of months, but organisers are promising plenty to get excited about.
2021's event was thrilling to watch as Welsh runner Ciaran Lewis competed in his first ever half marathon to be announced as the winner with a fantastic time of 01:06:10. With seconds between them, New Zealander Paul Martelletti finished in 01:07:01 with Mohammed Saleh close on his heels at 01:07:34.
Local runner Mollie Williams made Salford proud by being crowned first female finisher with an impressive 01:15:46. She was shortly joined by Breege Connolly, 01:16:30, and Claire Clancy, 01:18:35, who both flew over the line.
You may have the legs or stamina to emulate times like these, but whether you’re looking for a new challenge, seeking a new pb or want a glorious medal to add to your collection, the 2022 Manchester Half has you covered and there is still time to grab your spot at the start line in October!
