Make time for this variety of virtual races
Manchester-based Time2Run Events have created a programme of virtual races to give runners the opportunity to get their competitive fix whilst earning a medal into the bargain. They can aim for a PB. Or see how they fare against other virtual runners on a day and time to suit them.
With their scheduled races postponed Time2Run Events UK wanted to offer runners the chance to complete these events virtually and ‘anytime’ ‘anyplace’ and ‘anywhere’ subject to the current restrictions due to the coronavirus. For some runners it is an opportunity to revisit an old favourite whereas others get to enter one of these for the first time.
The range caters to every distance from 5K to an ultra and includes the Ice Cream 5K, Tiger Beetle 10K, Anderton Boat Lift Half Marathon and Hell of a Hill Marathon as part of an illustrious line-up. Runners can enter the same event more than once to try and beat their time or compete against others and the organisers will award prizes for the best progress in a year.
A runner picks a virtual run – there is a GPX route map for each one - and complete it when they so wish. There is no date or time limit. They record this and send a link or a screenshot of their distance and time to Time 2Run Events UK. The organisers will verify the information then upload it to their virtual results page for before sending out the event medal within 14 days.
