Run Silverstone for a wheely good race
Family Mile is back on the starting grid.
There are three days to go to Run Silverstone (Sunday 10 October) and a choice of 5K, 10K or Half Marathon at this iconic event from The Race Organiser. Adults and children are welcome again as the Family Mile returns and there is further good news with spectators allowed back.
Around you go, taking it steady or full throttle for a PB on the single lap circuit including the pit lanes and service road. There is plenty of space for overtaking and the smooth surface a pleasure to run on whilst equally suitable for wheelchair racers. Put your foot down through Maggotts, Becketts and Chapel turns, keep the pace along Hangar Straight and save enough for a fast sprint to the finish.
The Family Mile starts at 9.30am followed by the 5K, 10K and Half Marathon at 10am with wheelchair racers setting off ahead of the runners. Participants select one of nine pens according to pace and for anyone signed up for the half marathon; pacers will be available to help them to their target finish time. There are four water stations for the Half Marathon (and two for the 10K).
Do your best F1 impressions as you cross the finish line then collect a bespoke medal complete with its own chequered ribbon, water and snacks. Relax in the Event Village or spend the rest of the day in the Silverstone Interactive Museum.
Online entries close at 12 noon today Thursday 7 October. There is no entry on the day.
This is a popular event due to the famous course and places speedily fill up. Grab a last entry now at the Run Silverstone website.
