Junior and Mini Great Scottish Run

Discover Your Superpower

Great Run are calling on future running stars to take to the streets of Glasgow this October...

The AJ Bell Junior and Mini Great Scottish Run returns to Glasgow on Saturday 5 October, giving young runners their time to shine before the 10K and Half Marathon events take centre stage the following day.

There are three distances for young runners to enjoy: The Toddler Dash is only 70 metres and is suitable for children up to three years; the minis (3-8 years) take on a 1 mile dash, while juniors (9-15 years) tackle a 2.5K challenge. The junior event is chip timed, giving young aspiring runners the chance to get a taste of that finish line feeling as they take centre stage on Great Scottish Run weekend.

Everyone involved will experience an amazing day at George Square, and be rewarded with a shiny new medal as they cross the finish line. This event sold out last year... so the advice to all parents is be quick, and sign your kids up soon!

The theme of this year’s junior races is ‘Finding your Superpower’ so runners, and their supporters, are encouraged to discover their own superpower – whether this is racing, fundraising or being a superstar spectator. It is also suggested that everyone dress accordingly - so dig out those superhero costumes from the dress-up drawer.

In a nutshell, those taking part this October can expect crazy costumes, photo opportunities, great support from the Glasgow crowd and lots of family fun so whether it’s racing, fundraising or being your best – discover your superpower at the Junior & Mini Great Scottish Run!
