Run to Thank You NHS in the Manchester 10K Virtual
Manchester 10K Virtual shows heartfelt gratitude to the NHS
You clapped for carers now run for the NHS in gratitude for their hard work and dedication during the coronavirus pandemic. The Running Bee Foundation in association with the Manchester Foundation Trust Charity (MFTC) has launched a virtual version of We Love OUR NHS Manchester 10K dedicated to those on the front line against Covid-19.
The live race was scheduled for the 22 November at Heaton Park but the current lockdown and restrictions have led to it being postponed to next year. This virtual event has been put in place as part of The Running Bee Foundation’s commitment to health and fitness in the North West and support for charities, and provides a focus for people during lockdown 2.
We Love OUR NHS Manchester 10K Virtual begins on Sunday 22 November and participants run or walk the distance on a route of their own choosing whilst remembering to follow government guidelines about social distancing and hand hygiene.
They have four weeks in which to complete 10K in one session or several and send proof of this to The Running Bee Foundation who will post a souvenir medal in return. This medal is a permanent reminder of a year when the world faced a global health crisis and the NHS stepped up to the challenge.
This event will help the MFTC to continue delivering a range of vital services to patients in Greater Manchester and Trafford at a time when these are in more demand than ever. All proceeds will be donated to the charity.
Here is an opportunity to thank those who have put their lives on the line as Chris Bird, Trustee and Founder of The Running Bee Foundation says: “We want to show our appreciation for everything they have done and encourage people to run and raise money for the services provided by the NHS.”
