John Muir Way 50K Returns In Spring
Make a date with an ultra in 2024...
Ultras are the new marathons, haven't you heard? If you fancy challenging yourself over the (extremely long) distance then how about doing so at an event that offers mile upon mile of stunning coastal stretches, rural landscape and woodland trails? You certainly won't get bored!
The John Muir Way 50K will take place on 9 March 2024 with participants getting the chance to run past championship links golf courses on the way to the birthplace of John Muir - who was a leading light in the enjoyment of outdoor pursuits.
Organisers comment: "Enjoy the mix of surfaces on an event that can be seen by many as their step into the endurance world of ultra running."
This event was the first race of its type on Scotland's East Coast and it provides runners with a fantastic and beautiful route. The John Muir Way winds through East Lothian's coastlines and rural trails passing a number of historic towns and villages including Aberlady, Gullane and North Berwick.
There are already plenty of ultra fans signed up for the event with Suzanne Beattie commenting:
"Just signed up! I've ran both legs as part of a relay team - excited (and a bit scared!) to run the full distance in 2024!"
