Great Birmingham Run 2022

Great Birmingham Run bounces back into town

Catch the early bird offer

Earlybird entries are now open for the Great Birmingham Run, which will return to the city on Sunday 1 May 2022. The popular event will be back on the city’s streets following cancellations in 2020 and 2021 due to the impact of the pandemic.

The 10K and Half Marathon events will start in the city centre and follow similar routes to previous years, incorporating the historic heart of Birmingham, its latest developments and world-famous heritage sites.

Earlybird entry prices of £25 for the 10k and £31 for the Half Marathon are available for a limited time only, before moving to the standard prices of £31 and £39 from Tuesday 9 November.

Together with their partners, Birmingham City Council, the Great Run Company are working hard to deliver a safe event for participants and the local community in 2022.

Paul Foster, of the Great Run Company, said: “Thanks for sticking with us while we’ve worked to safely bring the Great Birmingham Run back to the city. After a very long wait, we’re excited to get to work on delivering a memorable comeback for the Midland’s biggest running event. Seeing tens of thousands of runners lined up together, ready to conquer personal goals, raise money and have fun is an amazing spectacle. We can't wait to see it at the Great Birmingham Run once again.”

Over 17,000 runners took part in the 2019 Great Birmingham Run, which raised over £2.5 million for charity.  Next year’s event is expected to see similar numbers with a huge number of fundraisers, first time runners and entrants of all ages taking part alongside a competitive elite field.

Entries for the Junior & Mini Great Birmingham Run also taking place on Sunday 1 May are now open.  The popular kids events give budding running stars a big event experience and the chance to claim their own finisher’s medal.
