Champions Head To Inverness
Inverness Half Marathon will host the 2023 Half Marathon Championships...
Inverness Half Marathon is an early season race with great PB potential, following a flat and scenic route through the historic Highland capital of Inverness alongside the picturesque River Ness. It was announced recently that the race has been selected to host the Scottish Half Marathon Championships for 2023 and so you can expect the field to be full of top-class runners all looking for a shot at the title!
Taking place on 12 March, the popular Highland event also boasts a 5K race, which sticks to the banks of the River Ness, and is a perfect event for both ‘resolution’ and experienced runners of all ages. Whichever distance appeals to you, with a March date it is the perfect motivation to keep training through the long, dark months of winter.
And there are plenty of runners already signed up for the 2023 outing with lots of comments on social media. Leona Dunbar commented on Facebook: "This is my year for Inverness half! Every year I end up injured, and last year it was COVID! 2023 I'll crawl the thing if I need too!" Let's hope that's not the case and Leona gets to the start line in one piece.
Race organisers say: “Whether you’re working your way up to this distance for the first time, are a seasoned half marathon runner or looking to run a 5K with friends or family, this could be the perfect spring race to keep you motivated and training through the winter.”
“But whatever race you choose, a warm Highland welcome will await you as you approach the finish line.”
