Opening of new inov-8 brand store in Staveley, Lake District

inov-8 forges ahead with first brand store

The new outlet will be the go to place for trail and fell runners

Great minds think alike as inov-8 in partnership with Pete Bland Sports opened the doors to their first-ever brand store in the South Lakeland village of Staveley. Off-road runners, hikers and gym goers surged through the doors at 9am yesterday (Thursday, 15 April), keen to treat themselves after the long winter lockdown.

These two well-known names in the running world have enjoyed a successful business relationship since 2003 and this latest venture reflects their passion and commitment to all things outdoors. The partners have big plans for the store that includes being the start location for mapped run routes of local trails and fells, live speaker events and product taster sessions as well as selling a wide range of footwear and clothing.

Known as ‘The Forge’, the new store is in good company, surrounded by other like-minded businesses in Mill Yard that will make this a magnet for lovers of outdoor activities. It is close to Kendal and only 10 minutes from junction 36 of the M6 so easy to get to and once travel restrictions are lifted, can expect large numbers of visitors – locals and those further afield – looking to kit themselves out. Especially when events such as those organised by Lakeland Trails go ahead this year.

There is a sense of optimism as restrictions are being eased, echoed by Matt Bland, managing director of Pete Bland Sports who says: “It is a positive step for us as the business rises once again after the latest lockdown and events of the last year.”

The Forge inov-8 store will, initially, be open 5 days a week from Thursdays to Mondays.
