Limited edition range to support Salomon Foundation projects

Sleek range of special edition Salomon footwear and apparel to help injured mountain professionals and their families

Salomon, the international sports brand, has unveiled a limited-edition range of top quality trail running footwear and apparel that will directly benefit the Salomon Foundation, which aids mountain professionals. The new range features the colours of the Foundation and will be available at Salomon stores, on Salomon.com and at selected retailers.  All profits from the sale of these items will go directly to the Salomon Foundation.

The limited-edition range includes the Speedcross 5 trail running shoe (£130) in an all-black colourway, the Outline T-shirt (£35) and XA Twinskin short (£55) for men, the XA T-shirt (£35) and XA short (£45) for women, and the XA running cap (£22).

The Speedcross 5 features larger lugs for even more grip, a heel unit that cradles the foot to ensure a clean foot strike and a completely welded upper that moves naturally with the foot.

The apparel in the Salomon Foundation capsule is designed to offer comfort during warm summer trail or road running sessions. The men’s Outline T-shirt and XA Twinskin shorts feature fast-drying, breathable materials, while the women’s XA T-shirt and XA shorts are soft, light and breathable for intense running or training.

The XA running cap (for men and women) is also lightweight and breathable, with extra venting on top for hot days on the trail or on the road.

Founded in 1999, the Salomon Foundation has two primary goals: to make everyday life easier and assist in the social and professional rehabilitation of competitors and mountain professionals who are physically disabled as a result of an accident or illness; and to assist the families of deceased athletes and mountain professionals.

“We are thrilled that Salomon decided to create this limited-edition series of trail running gear and thankful to the product teams at Salomon for developing it,” says Marie Accambray, director of the Salomon Foundation. “

As mountain sports lovers we rely on people like ski patrollers and mountain guides to keep us safe, but they are exposed to risks in their professions. If they are injured and unable to earn a salary, it can leave them and their families in difficult situations. The Foundation comes to the aid of these people who protect us, or to the aid of their families in the case of death.”
