Be Prepared for Running & Bacon Butties!

You know this 10K will be well organised with the 1st Holymoorside Scout Group behind the scenes...

Back for its 13th outing, Derbyshire's Holymoorside 10K & Fun Run will return on 12 May this year. Organised by 1st Holymoorside Scout Group as part of their fundraising activities you can be assured of a well organised day with Scouts on hand to provide assistance and standing true to their motto of 'be prepared."

The 10K race passes through scenic Derbyshire countryside, along quiet country lanes. Starting near the Village Hall, runners will then follow quiet country lanes uphill for 4K to Longside Moor. The route then undulates across the moor before those taking part can make the most of a fast, downhill finish into the village taking in the stunning scenery along the way.

The Fun Run starts at the Village Hall as well and involves a 2K route around the lovely village playing fields. Entry is open to all and everyone who takes part will receive a medal.

Tea, coffee, cakes and cold refreshments will be available for purchase inside the Village Hall. Hot bacon butties will be available for purchase outside the Village Hall throughout the event.

Over 200 took part in the 2023 event with Tom Shaw of Dronfield RC winning in a time of 35:57 while first female over the line was Caitlin Bradbury of Beeston AC in a time of 43:49.
