Looking For A Good Running Event?
Reading 10K returns to Green Park after four years of absence
Good news for Reading's resident runners and anyone looking for a good running event next Sunday (4 June 2023). Good Running Events have revived and rebooted the popular Royal Berkshire 10K, last held in on 19 May 2019 and now known as the Green Park Reading 10K.
The 2019 race was won by M40 Simon Lewis (Pontypridd Roadents AC, 33:44) and W40 Lesley Locks (Hart Road Runners, 36:26) from 1,462 finishers in 1:42:33. Around 900 runners were quicker than 6min/km for sub-60:00 times on the flat, fast and traffic-free course.

The Good Running Events revamp includes the Mini Marathon 3K and Mini Mile in the three-race format on courses that are in and around Green Park – a remarkably green business park near junction 11 of the M4 on the outskirts of Reading. The park opened in 1999, covers 195 acres, and comprises 19 office buildings arranged around Longwater, a central lake and wildlife habitat.
Parking can be pre-booked at the nearby Madjeski Stadium, home of Reading FC. The Green Park Reading 10K starts at 10:30am; Mini Marathon 3K at 9:15am and Mini Mile at 8:30am. All finishers will receive a goody bag, an exclusive medal, and chip-timed results. The Mini Marathon and Green Park Reading 10K competitors will also receive a downloadable finisher's certificate and there will be event photography available to purchase.
Also available in the lively Event Village are toilets, a baggage store, race registration (open from 7:00am), massage, music, a meeting point, charity stands, a warm-up area, medal engraving, and a live commentary MC to provide the big race atmosphere.
Entries are still available for this Run Britain licensed and runABC South featured event from £11 for the kid's races to £23/£25 for the Green Park Reading 10K. Just click on the official race entries site here to sign up.
