Glasgow's Big Day Of Running Returns
Whether it’s your first race or your 50th, there’s never been a better time to experience the Great Scottish Run for yourself...
Glasgow will once again host one of Scotland’s most iconic mass participation events as the AJ Bell Great Scottish Run returns on 5 October, bringing runners and supporters together for a celebration of fitness, community, and city pride.
Set against the backdrop of Glasgow’s striking architecture and green spaces, the event invites runners to take on either the 10K or half marathon, with both routes offering a fast, scenic tour of the city’s best-loved landmarks. Starting from the historic George Square, participants will enjoy a course that showcases the likes of the Finnieston Crane, the River Clyde and the vibrant streets of the city centre.
Those tackling the half marathon can look forward to a few bonus highlights, including an extended stretch through Pollok Country Park and Bellahouston Park – with a Highland cow or two offering a uniquely Scottish moment en route.
But the Great Scottish Run is about more than just distance. It’s an experience powered by atmosphere. From traditional bagpipers and pounding music zones to cheering charity crews and the famously passionate Glaswegian crowds, this is a race that delivers on both energy and emotion. Whether you’re chasing a PB, running in memory of someone special or soaking up the buzz, the city has your back every step of the way.
Open to runners of all backgrounds and abilities, the event continues to build on its reputation as Scotland’s greatest running event and this year looks set to be no exception.
