Great Scottish Run

Run In The European Capital Of Sport

Just what can you expect at this year's AJ Bell Great Scottish Run?

The AJ Bell Great Scottish Run will return for a spectacular running celebration on Saturday 30 September & Sunday 1 October. Each year, tens of thousands of runners push their perseverance and passion to the limit and take on the super-scenic 10K and half marathon routes around Glasgow.

Glasgow has long been a sporting powerhouse and this year’s event will recognise its title of European Capital of Sport in 2023. To help with this the people of Glasgow are encouraged to come together, lace up their trainers and line up on the start line to be part of the celebration and help pay tribute to the city’s heritage as a hub of phenomenal sporting achievement.

Starting and finishing in the heart of the city, runners can expect stunning scenery, iconic landmarks and incredible local support from start to finish. You’ll cross the famous River Clyde, before running alongside Festival Park, Bellahouston Park, Pollok Country Park and more. The route is laden with greenery throughout and showcases the very best views that Glasgow has to offer.

Local support will be out in full force, offering high-fives and sweaty hugs to keep your legs going from the start to the finish. There will be a start line DJ, rocking on-course music zones and post-race celebrations – Glasgow will truly come alive on race day, and you have to be there to experience a running event like no other.

The greatest reward in taking part is the sense of achievement, but a shiny new medal, a snazzy t-shirt and a finisher’s bag filled with goodies will await you at the end of your run.
