Big Is Better At This Great 10K

Don’t miss your chance to be part of the North’s most uplifting summer run...

Newcastle is set to host its most vibrant summer running celebration yet as the AJ Bell Great North 10K returns on 6 July, bringing thousands of runners to the heart of the city for what promises to be its biggest ever edition.

Widely regarded as the North East’s largest and most iconic 10K, the event blends big city energy with local spirit that’s second to none. With the start line just a stone’s throw from the River Tyne, participants will take on a scenic city route that winds past some of Newcastle’s most recognisable landmarks before culminating in a high-energy finish at the Town Moor.

From first-timers to seasoned club runners, the Great North 10K welcomes all abilities and motivations, whether you’re chasing a new personal best, raising money for charity, or simply running for the sheer joy of it. With music zones, charity cheer squads and crowds of enthusiastic supporters lining the route, runners can expect plenty of encouragement every step of the way.

This year’s event is not just about the race. The finish line will be transformed into a celebration hub, with a DJ and party atmosphere to welcome runners home and kick-start the post-race festivities. Every participant will also walk away with a specially designed medal and exclusive finishers’ t-shirt, a lasting reminder of their achievement.

With demand expected to exceed previous years (last year’s event sold out well in advance) organisers are encouraging runners to secure their place early and be part of what’s shaping up to be a landmark moment for running in the North East.
