Runners at Great Manchester Run

Comeback Kid

The Great Manchester Run returns this September, will you be race ready?

The countdown to the Great Manchester Run (26 September) is on. Join the return of Manchester’s original running event, famous buzzing atmosphere from start to finish, iconic music and entertainment zones every kilometre of the course, and of course Mancunian spirit in abundance.

The autumn event also boasts a city centre start and finish, with Half Marathon and 10K routes taking runners out of the city past the iconic football stadiums!

To keep runners safe there will be COVID secure measures in place, but the thrill of running through the heart of Manchester and the unbeatable feeling of crossing the finish line on Deansgate, will be even more special this year.

With the event on the horizon it’s nearly time to start your training. The Great Manchester Run Solo challenge has been conceived to give those signed up a bit of extra motivation in the build-up to race day. The eight week challenge runs from 2 August to 26 September and will ensure you are fighting fit and race ready. The idea is that you complete 25 runs (or more) in the eight weeks building up to your Great Manchester Run. The final run is event day itself where you can finish in style and with a round of applause!

Whether you do it for the challenge, to fundraise for charity, or simply for fun, Be Your Greatest in 2021, the year of the comeback!
