Racing at the Wem 10K Road Race

Winning Wem 10K ready to shine once more

Race looking to capitalise on its successful 2019 debut

Sunday 26 September sees the return of the Wem 10K and a scenic route on closed roads to get excited about. There is a change to the course as per feedback from the 2019 race with the organisers taking out the housing estate section at the end.

Feedback was positive from the inaugural Wem 10K that proved to be a hit with runners of all abilities, much to the delight of organisers Run UKAC. The location, start and finish were praised as were the local population who clapped and cheered everyone, contributing to the friendly atmosphere on the day.

There was no race in 2020 due to the pandemic. However, we are in a different (and better place) now and the Wem 10K is back in business. This is an autumn 10K in an ancient market town dating back to Roman times that includes a loop around the countryside and views of landmarks such as Hawkstone Follies. Nothing technical or taxing makes this an ideal race for a first timer and the fast course a magnet for the PB-chaser. The race is chip timed.

It starts at 10am from Wem Sports and Social Club which also acts as the finish.

Runners will receive a bespoke medal for their efforts and free photos to download. There is the option to purchase a technical T-shirt as part of the entry fee.

Wem is a gem that is too good to miss. Buy tickets for this road race via the Run UKAC website.
