CODopoly Triple Medal

Game on at CODopoly

There were three days of fun, friendliness and new checkpoint procedures at the CODopoly Triple (16, 17 and 18 March) in Shropshire. Plus a relaxed vibe at this midweek event where even the sun made an appearance.

Blue skies and sunshine were a pleasing sight as a small but keen group of runners were determined to enjoy themselves despite the ongoing situation with coronavirus. A well-organised event as usual from Denzil Martin and team at How Hard Can It Be Events & CODRC who with everyone’s safety in mind adopted a series of hygiene measures that minimised physical contact. These included hand gel for people to use and food and drink passed to them during the event.

Runners had a choice of 10K, Half Marathon and a full Marathon or a mixture of these and whether to run one, two or all three days. These were held at two locations – Lightmoor, Telford and Coalport where they ran alongside the River Severn between Ironbridge and Bridgnorth.

Day 1 was at Lightmoor, Day 2 at Coalport with Day 3 back at Lightmoor. They completed multiple laps at these two locations and the well-stocked checkpoint ensured their nutrition and hydration needs were met. There was plenty of support and spirits remained high amongst the runners as they ticked off the laps in their chosen distance.

These races are known for their distinctive medals that are a collector’s item in many cases and the CODopoly Triple was no exception. The Monopoly inspired ‘bling’ was a winner.
