Do You Run Edinburgh?
Find your place with a community for women who love to run...
Whether you’re looking for motivation, chasing a personal best or simply want to enjoy the company of like-minded people, an inclusive running group is a fantastic place to start. If you're a woman and based in Edinburgh then We Run Edinburgh offers all of this and much more besides with community at its heart.
You don’t need to be an experienced runner or hit a certain pace to join. We Run Edinburgh offers courses to help improve your running, but at its heart is the Wednesday Social Run, the perfect opportunity to see what the group is all about. This session meets every Wednesday at 6:30pm outside St Mary’s Cathedral on Leith Street. There’s no need to sign up - just turn up with good vibes and enjoy the run.
For those who love a weekend jog with coffee and pastries, the group's Saturday Coffee Run is the perfect way to start the day. Held every two weeks, alternating between Leith and the Meadows, this relaxed 6K session is all about community, conversation and a post-run treat.
A new monthly trail session is on the way too, a spokesperson said: "We recognise the love for trail running within our community and so we've launched We Run Wild, a new monthly trail series. We Run Edinburgh is about running together with strength, confidence, and happiness. Come along and see where the journey takes you."
The first We Run Wild session kicks off this weekend (23 February) at Cammo Estate Local Nature Reserve. The run starts at 9:30am, with the route covering 8K of scenic trails. Runners will meet at Cammo South car park before heading off on a course designed for both beginners and experienced trail runners. There’s no café at the meeting point, but hot drinks and snacks will be available post-run.
