New Event At Wentworth Castle
Midweek trail running adventure heads to South Yorks...
Trail runners in Yorkshire are in for a treat as a brand-new event makes its debut at the stunning Wentworth Castle Gardens on Wednesday, 11 June. With both 5K and 10K trail runs, this evening race offers the perfect midweek training opportunity in a breathtaking setting - all to yourself, after hours!
Set within South Yorkshire’s only Grade I-registered landscape, Wentworth Castle Gardens provides an incredible backdrop for runners of all abilities. The 5K route is ideal for newcomers to trail running, while the 10K course presents a more challenging yet equally scenic adventure. Whether you’re looking to push your pace or simply soak in the rolling parkland, historic monuments and ancient woodlands, this event promises a magical experience.
Wentworth Castle Gardens is home to Stainborough Castle, a gothic folly dating back to 1731, alongside iconic landmarks such as the Rotunda, Serpentine Bridge and sweeping formal gardens. With 500 acres of estate to explore, runners will weave through some of the most beautiful and historically rich trails in South Yorkshire.
Canicross runners are also welcome, with one well-controlled dog per participant allowed on the course.
Whether you’re chasing a personal best, training for a longer event, or simply want to enjoy an evening run in a stunning location, this event is set to be a highlight of the summer trail running calendar.
