Don't Miss Out On This 10K Deal
Organisers report early entry surge for the 2025 Babcock 10K Series...
Almost 300 runners have already entered next year’s Babcock 10K Series and taken advantage of the Early Bird discount which provides entry to all three races for just £47/£53 - that’s less than £16 per race!
The three springtime 10K races will be held in Shettleston on Sunday 11 May at 10am, Dumbarton on 22 May at 7.30pm and Helensburgh on Thursday 29 May at 7.30pm.
Runners will compete for over £6,000 in prize money and Start Fitness vouchers across the three events. There are prizes for the first ten men and women, first over 40, 50 and 60 male and female finishers and the first three teams of three for both sexes. There are also prizes for the first local runners and first Team Clyde runners from HMNB Clyde.
The series records stand to Weynay Ghebresilassie from Shettleston at 29:32 and Natasha Phillips from Dundee at 32:57. Anyone breaking them will receive total prize money of £600, £200 for winning, £200 for setting a new course record and a further £200 for breaking the series figures.
It is hoped that Ghebresilassie will take a break from marathon running to try and better his time whilst Natasha Phillips has been impressing over the half marathon recently with a win in the Great Scottish Run and a big personal best of 70:18 in Valencia which just happened to be a European Under 20 record. Phillips is still only 19-years-old!
It is also hoped that Gateshead’s Calum Johnson will look to add to the titles he won in the Babcock Shettleston 10K in 2023 and the Babcock Helensburgh 10K earlier this year.
Every finisher will receive a unique commemorative medal and an item of Start Fitness running merchandise. All series entrants will receive a free series t-shirt to add to their collection and there will be spot prizes for men and women spread throughout the field.
