Crossing the finish line at a Draycote Water race

Dive into the Draycote Water Summer Series

Entries have opened for these popular midweek races.

Racing is back at Draycote Water with four Wednesday evening races to look forward to at this picturesque reservoir and country park in Warwickshire. These races are held in June, July and August and there are the Twilight 5K/10K’s and 7 at Severn to choose from.

A popular location for walkers and cyclists, Draycote Water is equally loved by runners for the course and superb views across the water and the surrounding countryside. One of several events from The Race Organiser, it is perfect for any novice looking to dip their toe in the water - metaphorically speaking - at 10K or for the more experienced runner, the opportunity to go hard from the outset to post a PB.

The course goes right around the reservoir on dam wall pathways and a perimeter service road which is smooth, flat tarmac making it ideal for the PB-chaser. There are some ups and downs though for variety and these plus the scenery add up to a very pleasant run and more so if the weather is fine and dry!

The Twilight 5K and 10K are evening races only whereas the 7 at Severn (7K) has 7am and 7pm races and any runner who completes both of these or ‘does the double’ receives a souvenir buff as well as their medals. It may be worth booking the day off work for this race.

The first race is on 23 June followed by 7 July, 21 July and 18 August. Places are limited to 250 as per current Run Britain guidance so first come first served.
