Age UK Leeds Abbey Dash

Dash in need of Volunteers

If you love the buzz of race day and want to be part of one of the UK’s most celebrated events this might well be the gig for you: the Age UK Leeds Abbey Dash, scheduled for Sunday 27 October, is on the look out for volunteers to assist on what will be the race’s 34th edition.

Known for its flat and fast route, the event regularly attracts upwards of 12,000 runners, creating a special and unique atmosphere around the streets of Yorkshire.

The route will take participants from Leeds City Centre towards the historic Kirkstall Abbey, where they’ll loop back around to the city centre and cross the finish line outside Leeds Town Hall at the heart of the city.

This year’s new start site means the race will get going with a slight decline and the loop around Cardigan Fields will be removed, which should hopefully result in even more PBs. In addition to being an event with a fantastic PB potential, the Abbey Dash provides invaluable funds for Age UK, with an estimated £250,000 raised in 2018.

For the event in October, organisers are seeking assistance with handing out medals, plus directing participants and spectators. To apply, head on over to the Age UK website and fill out the volunteering enquiry page.
