Cyprus Marathon Weekend

New overseas running camp for marathon & masters athletes

Sports Tours International, in partnership with England Athletics, has launched an overseas road running camp aimed at marathon and masters athletes. It takes place in Cyprus from 12-16 March 2020 and includes the opportunity to put the training to the test at the Cyprus Marathon Weekend.

Warm weather training camps have become increasingly popular with athletes who benefit from the coaching, advice and support delivered by respected figures in the sport. Not forgetting the mild climate which makes a pleasant change from the cold and wet that characterises winter training in the UK.

This camp is aimed at athletes or coaches who are part of the England Athletics Marathon Programme and England Age Group Masters representatives. They will benefit from a tailored road running camp outside the city of Paphos, participating in training runs, workshops and Q&A sessions, designed to get them race-fit and ready for the 2020 season.

Participants can then put the theory into practice by entering a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon or Marathon at the Cyprus Marathon Weekend. The Logicom Cyprus Marathon starts from Petra tou Romiou, the birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite and finishes in front of Paphos Medieval Fort next to the Harbour. Held on a mainly flat, coastal route that is suitable for all abilities and good for a PB.

The overseas road running camp is available as four-night and six-night packages with the option to add extra nights. They include entry into the Marathon pasta party and access to the exclusive finish line tent for England Athletics runners that contain fruit and water.
