Six Weeks Till Leicester
This 10K race offers a stunning route in the heart of the Midlands...
It's just six weeks until Leicester has its day with thousands of runners set to toe the line at this year's Leicester 10K on 2 March. The event is one of the region’s biggest and best-loved charity road runs with participants of all abilities and ages invited to take part, whether that be as part of fundraising efforts or for their own goal or reason.
Runners will set off from Jubilee Square before heading into the city centre and the beautiful greenery of Victoria Park. The scenic landscape of the park will weave runners through the University of Leicester before passing many of the city’s landmarks including the Leicester Museum & Art Gallery and Leicester Cathedral. Participants will then head back towards the city centre for an electric finish line on Jubilee Square.
Organisers comment: "Experience your very own 'runner's high' as you take in the historical Leicester route, right in the heart of the city. If you like beautiful scenery, a fun Sunday morning with friends and an impressive finisher's medal, then this is the event for you."
Pre and post-run fuel needs will be satisfied thanks to a selection of tasty food and drink choices at Jubilee Square. There are also several bars and cafés in the area that will be sure to welcome spectators and participants and are often bursting with atmosphere after the event.
Whether aiming to conquer a personal challenge or wanting to simply enjoy this stunning route with your mates, the Leicester 10K will see runners of all abilities and backgrounds come together for a fantastic day out of running.
Perhaps you’re looking for your next fundraising opportunity? There’s still time to raise some much-needed funds for a charity close to your heart or one of the event’s partner charities including the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Leicester Tigers Foundation, LAMP (Leicestershire Action for Mental Health Project) and Leicester City in the Community.
