Historic Strides At Compton Verney
It's a stunning setting for this Warwickshire Half and 10K event...
The scenic grounds of Compton Verney will once again play host to one of Warwickshire’s most picturesque running events as the Compton Verney Half Marathon and 10K returns on 13 July. Formerly known as the Edgehill Half Marathon, the event has been renamed to better reflect its breathtaking start and finish location - the stately home and parklands of Compton Verney.
Known for its relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and stunning countryside views, the event has become a summer favourite for runners of all levels. The historic house provides an unforgettable backdrop as runners set off across the manicured lawns and onto undulating country roads through local villages.
The half marathon winds through Kineton, Little Kineton and Radway before the real test begins with the climb up Pittern Hill just after mile 11, finishing triumphantly by the lake in front of Compton Verney House.
The 10K option, introduced in 2023, has quickly grown in popularity and offers a condensed version of the half marathon’s charm. The route also takes in Lodge Farm and Kineton, climbing Pittern Hill before looping back along quiet roads for a grand finish on the estate.
With generous prize categories including overall and age group awards, plus a supportive local crowd and beautiful surroundings, the Compton Verney Half Marathon and 10K promises both challenge and charm. Runners can expect well-placed water stations, excellent signage and post-race recovery options at the estate’s on-site café - the perfect place to refuel after a tough run.
Organisers are once again hoping for sunny skies and enthusiastic crowds to match the stunning setting. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or soaking up the summer atmosphere, this race is not to be missed.
