Midweek Trail Race Ticks All Boxes
Fancy a thrilling midweek run in the Pennines?
After a successful debut in 2024, the Clowbridge Trail 10K is back on Thursday, 24 July, promising another exciting evening of trail running around the stunning Clowbridge Reservoir. This midweek race is perfect for runners looking to fit a competitive challenge into their busy schedule without sacrificing a weekend.
Set against the backdrop of Lancashire’s rugged moorland, the route offers a mix of flat paths and rougher trails, taking runners around the reservoir and the Pennine Bridleway. With 175m of elevation over 10K, it’s an ideal course for those who love an off-road adventure with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
The race starts at 7pm from Rossendale Valley Sailing Club in Burnley. The course is fully marked and marshalled, ensuring runners can focus on the challenge ahead. Once across the finish line, participants can look forward to spot prizes and post-race celebrations at the Sailing Club.
The inaugural event in 2024 saw close to 70 runners take on the challenge, with Charlie Parkinson of Rossendale Harriers winning in 40:56 and Jennifer Derby claiming victory in 50:25. Organisers hope to see even more participants lacing up this year, with all funds raised going to local causes.
Final word to organisers: "Whether you’re aiming for a personal best, tackling the trails for the first time or simply soaking up the breathtaking scenery, our Trail 10K is a race not to be missed!"
