Clock Change Challenge Autumn 2026

An Extra Hour In Bed And Then Chase A PB

There cannot be many races where preparation includes an officially sanctioned extra hour in bed.

Clock Change Challenge Autumn returns to Calne on Sunday 25 October, the morning the clocks go back, giving runners an additional hour before tackling one of Wiltshire's established fast road events.

Now in its 17th year, the meeting offers accurately measured 5K and 10K races from Calne Community Campus alongside a 1.5K Fun Run for younger runners. The 5K starts at 10:00am, the Fun Run at 10:30am and the 10K at 11:00am.

Speed is a major part of the attraction. Both road courses are flat and designed with personal bests in mind, something reflected in some formidable records. Patrick Martin's 30:27 has stood as the men's 10K benchmark since 2014, while Lucy Morrison lowered the women's record to 36:42 last autumn. The 5K records are 15:10 for Jamie Parkinson and 18:05 for Sarah Kingston.

There is serious club competition too. The 10K is Race 8 of the 2026 Wiltshire Road Race League, bringing another reason to race hard alongside those simply targeting the clock.

Younger runners can tackle their own traffic free 1.5K around the sports fields, with medals waiting for finishers across all three distances.

The clocks go back at 2:00am. By 11:00am, plenty of runners in Calne will be trying to make time disappear again.

Entries are available now via the runABC race hub here.
